Warm, soft, light and easy to wear, wool accompanies the body in all its movements. These qualities make it resolutely modern and essential. A source of inspiration for designers, it always flirts with fashion.
The company VAL d’ARIZES has been weaving and knitting wool for more than forty years to make Fabric from the Pyrenees, a unique, authentic and natural material.
It was at the end of the 19th century that this fabric appeared in the region of Bagnères-de-Bigorre in the Hautes-Pyrénées. Originally, wool was knitted by hand and brushed with natural thistles to obtain a swollen fabric. In light of the success of this new material, manufacturers became interested in it and set up a few factories. The distribution of products would however remain essentially local, hence the name: Fabric from the Pyrenees.
VAL D’ARIZES distributes its clothes throughout France
Through lingerie and household linen boutiques, haberdasheries, hosiery shops, traditional shops … Val d’Arizes operates throughout France and in a few European countries.
With advanced trades, we use all our know-how to exploit wool’s qualities without distressing it. We weave it, knit it, scrub it and pamper it in our workshops at the foot of the Pyrenees. And because we use the most beautiful sheep’s wool, our fabrics keep their promises.

Val d’Arizes dressmakers provide all their know-how and a lot of care to make the items previously created in our workshop.
Situated just behind the factory shop, the weaving, cutting and making workshops are open to the public! Free of charge and open to all, you can discover the production line from the bobbin to the end product.
The models come in versions for men and women, in a wide range of colours made with total respect for the environment with dyes adhering to European standards.
IN FABRIC FROM THE PYRENEES OR KNITS
Jackets, dressing gowns, ponchos, shawls, scarves… are made in two different ways, the Fabric from the Pyrenees promising natural warmth and the coarse knit offering a stretchy and stylish material.
